JOE’s Place will be a community setting; it is within this community that transformation happens as life is lived out with caring adults engaging young people in life together. We want to provide a safe place for students to come, be able to learn and engage in a healthy life structure. Within these facilities we will provide them with the tools needed to study, learn, share, serve and play; each having its own place in living life together.
To give young people the opportunity to live life together within a caring environment that enables them to gain the needed life lessons and skills that will help them in living a productive life. In doing all this they will be seeing, hearing, and experiencing the Gospel of Jesus Christ through the lives of those who are working and sharing with them.
We will do this through:
Studying/Learning His Word/Truth, discipleship, school subjects, tutoring, life lessons and character issues.
Arts/Music providing a place to create, play and experience.
Sharing meals, resources, gifts and talents.
Healing through counseling and a safe place/refuge.
Service working together, giving, helping others, mission trips and service projects.
Playing enjoying life and having fun.
Agriculture/Animals learning to raise, care for, feed, harvest, keep records and sell produce or animals through 4-H, FFA or on a farm setting.
Sports/Outdoor Adventures camps, retreats, training, rafting, mountain biking, hiking, fishing, backpacking, camping, boating, soccer, basketball and baseball.
Job Skills basis training in vocational skills and job preparations (example: learning to write a resume), internships, job placement and business partnerships.
Mentoring an adult paired up with a student to come along side for encouragement and support.
Through prayer and proven ministry models, our desire is to build meaningful relationships with students using skilled and trained staff with a passion for reaching students.
This will happen in a facility that will connect young people to caring adults who will engage them in life together. Today there are so many young people who do not have families, regular home life, parents who are involved in their lives, the opportunity to sit around a table for dinner. They don’t have a healthy relationship with their parents (mom or dad), the atmosphere to learn life skills such as character issues, how to relate to adults, how to cook, to play together, to learn to give and serve others and so many other things that they are so desperately needing.
JOE’s Place reaches out to young people, working together in partnership with local churches, other like-minded organizations, businesses and the local community to see their lives transformed physically, emotionally and spiritually through the work of Jesus Christ.
The youth we will be working with is Middle and High School age students between the ages of 11-18 years old. We feel this group of kids are most overlooked in our community. We believe we have a viable plan to MEET THE NEEDS of many of these kids in our community.
We exist to create a safe place for young people where they can be transformed by the Gospel of Jesus.
By first affecting individuals, we then impact their families, schools, peers and the community.
